The 2024 Half Marathon and 10k will follow the same courses as those introduced in 2023.

We’re expecting a great atmosphere on the day so please come and join us.

Parking: Parking will be available at Race HQ and at the Maltings Pavilion, Pirnhow Street (100m from Race HQ).

Please note – entrance/exit to the Race HQ parking will be closed from 9:15am to 10:15am whilst races are starting.

Maltings Pavilion parking will be unaffected.

Number collection: Race numbers will be available to pick up on race day.

Bag drop: There will be a bag drop at race HQ.

Refreshments: Tea, coffee, cakes and hot food will be available on site.

Prizes: Prize giving on the day.

Medal for every runner given out at the finish line.

Race Start and Finish: 10k and Half Marathon races will start at Race HQ.

10K

Flattish course.

Held mainly on quiet country lanes with last 2.5k on loose surfaced footpath plus 300 metres on grass track

Minimum Age 15.

Half Marathon

Gently undulating with a short steep hill at 2 miles, otherwise mainly flat.

Minimum Age 17.

Entries are non-refundable and unfortunately cannot be deferred but transfers are available until midnight on 09/04/2024

Before attending the race, please have a read of our Code of Conduct to ensure the event runs smoothly and fairly for everyone.

A Festival Fun Run will take place at 9am on race day. This short course will be suitable for 14 years old and under. We would be delighted if children want to run this with their parents/grandparents. Entries will be £1 on the day.

There will be toilet cubicles and urinals on site at Barc, but there will be no changing areas.

There will be a manned baggage drop but please remember you must present your race number to reclaim your baggage. Your baggage is stored by us at your own risk.

The 10k and Half Marathon are one-lap courses. They will be clearly marked at every km/mile. There are two water stations on the 10 km and six water stations on the half marathon. You must run on the left on road sections and obey instructions and directions of the police and race marshals. The course will remain signed after the cut-off time, but marshals will stand down.

Medical personnel will be present at the start/finish and along the course. If you develop medical problems please alert the nearest marshal and prompt assistance will be provided.

Headphones, including bone conductors are not permitted at any BBDRC race.

The races use roads which are open to traffic, so it is important to be aware of vehicles and Marshall’s instructions.
