Great Yarmouth has once again proved to be a stunning backdrop for runners, with its scenic seaside setting hosting this year’s Promenade 5 Mile Series. Black Dog runners have turned out in impressive numbers to enjoy every stride along the coast.

So far, two out of the three races in the series have taken place, with an incredible 26 Black Dogs joining race one and an even stronger 28 runners participating in race two. The fantastic turnout has added to the lively and supportive team atmosphere that makes these events so special.

Both races took place in glorious sunshine with breath-taking sunsets and an invigorating coastal winds that kept runners on their toes! Despite the challenge, spirits have been high and performances outstanding across the board.

A special congratulations goes to Chloe Goodswen and Sharon Bone, who both took part in their very first race—a fantastic milestone following the months of training.

The events have also been boosted by the enthusiastic support of fellow club members, who lined the route to cheer runners on and provide that extra encouragement needed for the final push to the finish line.

The course itself begins at Wellington Pier, taking runners out towards the Venetian Gardens before looping back past the Marina Centre. With two laps to complete, runners only face the wind for short stretches before turning the corner and enjoying some well-earned relief.

With one race still to go, excitement is building for a strong finish to what has already been a fantastic series for the Black Dogs.
