Sun, Strides and Sausages: The Black Dog Awards Social

It was a lovely spring morning for this year’s Black Dog social run and awards creating the perfect setting for a beautiful run, chatter, and some well-earned celebrations.
Over 30 enthusiastic runners gathered for a relaxed one or two-hour social run, enjoying the scenic route and catching up with both familiar faces and new club members along the way. A photo stop captured the spirit of the morning before everyone headed back to Ditchingham Village Hall, where the real reward awaited.
More members joined the group for a delicious cooked breakfast, prepared by the club’s legendary Kitchen Crew, whose efforts fuelled both conversation and recovery after the run.
The event also celebrated individual achievements, as Club Captain, Lucy Johnston, presented age grading trophies. This measure allows runners to compare performances fairly across age and gender groups, highlighting impressive efforts from across the club.
A huge thank you goes out to everyone who made the morning possible: the organisers, the dedicated run leaders, and of course, the Kitchen Crew who ensured no one left hungry.
And well done to all our Award Winners for a great year of running.
